I'm seventeen years old and recently started my Christian walk. Most of my family is atheist or agnostic. One particular cold day I was really upset and, like I usually do, I went to the park to try and think things through. I was very sad and confused about myself and wasn't confident in my faith. I was constantly worrying and crying because I needed someone to comfort me and I hated that my family wasn’t respecting God. It hurt me a lot and still does.

As I walked, I wondered, "Does God really love me?" I answered it myself. "No." Anyway, feeling quite disheartened and mad at myself, I was looking at the ground. As my street was crossing paths with a man, I looked up. I tried to avoid him but he stopped me. He was a perky white haired mailman on his route whose path was crossing mine.

He stopped me, looked down at me with the warmest smile and said, "God loves you." At first, I just nodded and walked away, not sure of him. As he was just walking away out of my sight, bewildered, I stopped. Shocked and wide eyed, I looked back, and then looked up at the sky in amazement. Like wow...okay God.. I'm listening to you.
